What is Hardware Java? It is a coffee shop of sorts. The idea came from a favorite coffee shop in a small town near Cincinnati. The old shop certainly could have been a hardware store in the heart of town in an older time before the "Big Box" days. Not far from the city center, across from the old pharmacy. The railroad and old station is just north up the sidewalk. As a hardware store, it was that place to get a small nut and bolt. The rubber thing you need for the toilet. Smell of paint and turpentine. A place to walk with the dog on a Saturday morning when you were able to get around to the stuff that needed done around the house.
In this era, a coffee shop. Still that place to go in the morning to meet a friend or to just get the day started. So welcome to our coffee shop. Push the old screen and glass door open, and step inside. Grab a cup of Joe, sit at the counter or at one of the tables. Read the paper, or your tablet. Talk to the regulars. Listen for stories.
Currently, the site is still in its infancy. At this point you'll find essays/blogs in as heard in the shop. In the future, I hope to have a travel log of the places we go (travel from here to there…), and thoughts about brew & more (coffee of the day, or a special cigar). Finally, I hope to build photo gallery of some of the places we have been. So pour a hot cup of java, relax and enjoy!
